A Day of Triumph and Trials: Reflecting on Our SoHo 2024 Race

The Soldier Hollow 2024 race was a roller coaster of emotions, from the scorching heat to the thrilling climbs and heart-pounding descents. Despite a few riders feeling the burn, the team's overall performance was nothing short of epic.

One of our riders took a tumble that had us all holding our breath. Thankfully, they are tough as nails and recovering well from a concussion. Get better soon!

Also, we had a few riders dealing with some heat during the race. Luckily everyone is ok!

Let's talk numbers:

• HUNDREDS of passes

• 91 racers

• A few sprint finishes

• Plenty of dirty faces

• 39 in the top 25

• 12 in the top 10

• 3 on the podium

• 1 victory

And some interesting notes:

• On average, we had faster laps than 2023 and the course was more challenging

• Over 1000 combined miles ridden with nearly 150,000 combined vertical feet of climbing

• Fastest lap time was 21:46

• Fastest avg lap time was 22:18

• Several riders successfully completed their very first race!

As a team the numbers were very consistant. Lots of riders had negative split times on their laps!

Not everyone had a perfect race, but that's part of the beauty of mountain biking. The important thing is that we gave it our all and learned from our experiences. We came up short on making the podium as a team but it was close and we’ll be back competing at Vernal.
